I am planning to build a large size DIY CNC Router, it can cut 4' X 2' wood board. I think it is a very exciting project in this year. I hope everything can run smoothly. Here is the computer rendering and parts list of the CNC machine. #DigitalFabrication

Recently, I modified the router to be DW660 router which is more power than previous one. I hope that the cutting power can be enhanced.
I design this wood bow tie and mill it in shapeoko CNC machine. However, the form is not ideal, there are some dimension error between the physical product and digital model. I guess it may be due to configuration setting, I still haven't resolved it yet. Milling process After milling
The previous fixing method is not ideal, so I bought some M6 fixing devices from Amazon and modified the working table recently. After modification, the fixing distance became shorter and I can mount a smaller object on the working table. The M6 fixing devices are made of metal and the mounting clamps are aluminium so the object will be mounted firmly on the wooden table. After adding a fan to cool the control board, the milling process became smooth. I am quite happy to see this smile cup mat. If you are interested in it, you can visit my shop. Recently, I firstly tried to use my CNC machine to cut cork board. The g-code was generated by CAMBAM. The fist two operations (profile1 and profile2) were perfectly executed but the final one (profile3) was out of control and become in a mess. I asked a help in a CNC forum and got the answer which no fan for overheating board may be the reason why the spindle suddenly stopped when cutting. So, I think I need to install a fan for my control board. Recently, I would like to make a mount for a DW660 Router shown as the left picture. So, I bought some HDPE material and DW660 Router from Taobao with a very cheap price which are shown in the below pictures. I downloaded the G-code of DW660 mount and intend to mill it by myself. However, there were some errors when I run the G-code with a link pen drawing on the white paper. The final drawing is not accurate, it mean that the HDPE part would not be as same as the design shape when I mill it actually. I am so worried about the result of the drawing pattern. I don't know why the drawing pattern is not the same as the G-code. I still don't know how to fix it. I hope that I can mill a mount for this bigger power router. HDPE material DW660 router DW660 mount drawing I am happy to say that I have successfully calibrated Shapeoko CNC mill. That means I can use it to do some CNC works. The next step is to install Router for this machine. I have bought it from mainland China and hope that it can function well. I also want to do CNC art painting in the coming days but I have no idea how to do it at this moment. I hope that I can find a way to try it.
